Does HCQ service sewing machines and longarm quilting machines?
As an authorized BERNINA Dealer, HCQ offers full service on Bernina Sewing Machines and Sergers with a local authorized Bernina repair service. The service picks up machines to be repaired every Tuesday afternoon. There is usually a one week turn-around for Bernina service. Just drop off your machine during our regular shop hours.

We are also able to offer full service and repair on any brand of sewing machine as well as APQS Long Arm Quilting Machines. Please contact the shop if you would like more information at (719) 598-1312.
Can I request a specific class to be scheduled at HCQ?

Yes you can! Be sure to let us know of any classes that you are interested in. We keep a log of customer requests in our class sign up book, and if we have at least three people interested in a certain class, we will schedule that class. Or, if you have at least two friends that would like to take a class with you, we will schedule a class just for you!

You can view the latest class offerings in our online Class Schedule.

We are constantly updating and adding new classes to keep our schedule fresh!

You can see the E-News Letter even if you're having trouble receiving your email or just to access it more quickly at any time, or if you've already deleted it from your email inbox. Now that makes life even easier!

Select this link to go to Current High Country Quilts E-News Letter then bookmark the site to add it to your Favorites list.
Does HCQ mail out a printed newsletter and class schedule?

Unfortunately not. With the high cost of postage, we have decided to curtail our mailings. However, we do provide printed copies at our store and if you can't make it into the store, we will be glad to send one out to you. Our newsletter comes out twice a year and is always available here on our website. We encourage our customers to stay in touch with what's going on at HCQ by viewing our online Class Schedule, Catalog, What's New and Gallery pages.

Can I buy HCQ gift certificates online?

We now have our popular gift certificates in our web site catalog. You can choose any amount you would like and choose a gift certificate to be used in our shop or for purchases from our online catalog.

We can email the online gift certificate code to the recipient or mail them a paper gift certificate with the code. We can also mail an in-shop gift certificate to the recipient or have it available for you to pick up at the shop and so you can mail it yourself.

Now you can share the fun of High Country Quilts with your friends and family wherever they are!
Can I register to win your monthly prize EVERY month?
Yes you can. On the "Register to Win" page of our web site you can register for a chance to win a special prize from HCQ every calendar month. The web site has a computerized random selection process to select our winner every month. Are you feeling lucky this month?
What kind of fabric do you carry?
Only the best fabrics for us! All of our fabrics are 42" to 44" wide and 100% cotton unless otherwise noted. We stock quality quilting cottons from name manufacturers.
How can I tell which fabrics are which in the kits? Can I order a kit in a different colorway from the ones available in your online catalog?
If it is not obvious which fabric is the background, etc., we label the fabrics or make a swatch sheet so you don't have to guestimate where the fabrics belong in your quilt project.

We welcome special orders and we are known for our expertise in selecting just the right fabrics for our wide variety of kits. Just email or phone us with your special requests.
Can I order off-line?
Absolutely! If you prefer, we will be happy to expedite your order by mail, phone, or fax using a major credit card. There is a manual order form in the shopping cart instructions which can be accessed on the main page of the catalog. You can print the order form and fill it in with the items you would like to order and your credit card information, and you can then mail or fax the form to us. You can also just call us and place your order over the phone if you like at 719-598-1312.
If I am a Colorado resident, do I pay taxes on my order?
The tax on orders going to Colorado addresses is 7.4% which includes state and local taxes. Also, if you order on-line and choose to pick up your order at High Country Quilts, you will not be charged shipping and handling, but you will be charged the 7.4% tax.
What is your return policy?
Items other than cut yardage and copyrighted materials such as books and patterns may be returned within 30 days of purchase provided the item(s) are in saleable condition. The customer pays for return shipping and a credit will be issued for the purchase price of the item(s) and tax, if any. Any item with an obvious defect may be returned within 30 days and the customer will be reimbursed for return shipping costs as well as the item purchase price. A receipt for the item must be provided in order to receive any refund.
What happens if my order is incorrect or damaged?
Just return the incorrect or damaged item(s) with a note telling us what the problem is and we will make sure that you get the item(s) you ordered or we will issue you a credit on your account.
What are your shipping charges?
HCQ's shipping rates are calculated according to the dollar amount of your order for U.S. Postal Service mailing and shipping. See the rate chart below. A small handling fee is added to the shipping cost to cover our cost associated with packaging materials.

We also have the option for you to pick up your order at High Country Quilts if you are going to be in the area in the near future, and in that case, you will not be charged shipping and handling charges for your order. However, you will be charged the 7.4% tax rate.

International shipping charges are usually about twice the U.S. shipping amount or more and are calculated manually for each order after we receive it. Since the most recent U.S. Postal Service rate changes, the most inexpensive way to ship to international destinations is the international priority rate or priority flat rates. International air parcel post service is no longer offered by the U.S. Postal Service.

Domestic Shipping & Handling Fees-Via USPS
Purchases up to $20.00$5.50
$20.01 to $30.00$6.00
$30.01 to $40.00$7.00

Can I set up a "Wish List" at your shop so my friends and family can get ideas of quilting goodies that I would like to receive as gifts?
HCQ's on-line catalog has this feature built-in. Next time you're on the HCQ web site, check out the "Wish List". This feature of the on-line catalog allows you to "shop" and add items you can't resist to the shopping cart. After adding all the items you'd like as gift ideas into the shopping cart, do the following:

--Select the "Place Contents in Wish List" option at the bottom of the shopping cart screen. This takes you to a screen where you enter your name and email address and the email addresses of all those special friends and family who don't know what to get you for the holidays OR your birthday.
--You will be mailed an email with a list of the items you put on your Wish List, and your family and friends will also be sent an email with a link to your list where they can order the item(s) you've chosen.
--The contents of your Wish List will be automatically updated whenever an item is ordered, either by your Wish List recipients, OR by you.
--You can add items to your wish list at any time and a new updated wish list will be created.

We also have an 'In Shop' Husband's Shopping Nite in December! We will help your mate find just what you wanted, wrap it up and give a discount on all their purchases!

Happy Holidays and Birthdays couldn't be any easier!
